There are three possibilities to heal the ranger, only one of them will be available at any particular point.
The first possibility is Some slimy green mold.

The second possibility is A small jar of medical salve.
do out,2s,w,n,get jar,s,e,2n,push weeds
The third possibility is A sturdy board.
do out,2s,w,get board,e,2n,push weeds
Once you have the relevant item.
give <item> to ranger
A Ranger of Ithilien will then give you A thin ceramic key.
do out,s,kill guard
You will be attacked by A looming Morgul guard (and possibly some others, you will have to kill at least one of them), if you need to heal you can head back north. When they are all dead.
do e,unlock chest with ceramic key,open chest,get papers from chest,w,n,push weeds,give papers to ranger
A Ranger of Ithilien will thank you and give you A glittering Ithilien longsword as thanks.
